Kenneth Lawson, MD, FACEP was named Chief Medical Officer (CMO), at Boston Medical Center – South in 2018. As CMO, Dr. Lawson leads the medical staff with a focus on clinical quality, safety, and physician engagement. Dr. Lawson previously served as chief of the Emergency Department at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Prior to that Dr. Lawson served as associate chief of the Emergency Department at South Shore Hospital. Dr. Lawson brings many years of leadership and a dedication to clinical excellence and collaboration to his role at Boston Medical Center – South. Dr. Lawson received his undergraduate degree in Nautical Science from The United States Merchant Marine Academy. He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Boston City Hospital and internship at Carney Hospital.
