About

Christopher Digesu, MD, is Chief of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Boston Medical Center (BMC), Boston Medical Center – Brighton (BMC Brighton), and Boston Medical Center – South (BMC South) in Brockton, Massachusetts. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Dr. Digesu earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City and completed general surgery residency training and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston. While at BIDMC, he served as the Administrative Chief Resident of the General Surgery Program and completed the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) Robotics Fellowship as well as the prestigious AATS Leadership Academy.

Dr. Digesu’s clinical interests focus on robotic and minimally invasive thoracic oncology and surgery. His research and personal interests include clinical trials in thoracic oncology as well as fostering diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives within surgery to combat disparities in the care of surgical patients and promote diversity within the field.
