About
Erin L. Maxfield, DO, is a board-certified primary care and family medicine physician at Boston Medical Center – Brighton (BMC Brighton). She is also an Instructor of Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Maxfield earned an honors bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Texas Arlington and a medical doctorate (DO) from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. Directly afterwards, she became a neuropathology postdoctoral research scholar at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She then completed an internship year at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, New York, and her family medicine residency training working with underserved populations at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, New York.
Dr. Maxfield’s clinical interests include medical ethics, addiction medicine, trauma-informed care, and health equity. She is passionate about empowering patients and supporting domestic and international nonprofit medical organizations.
