About
Jonathan M. Durgin, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery with robotic and advanced laparoscopic techniques at Boston Medical Center – Brighton (BMC Brighton), where he also serves as Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency.
Dr. Durgin received his medical degree from UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, where he also completed his general surgery residency training followed by a fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal (GI) minimally invasive surgery. He additionally completed a research fellowship in surgical innovation through Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Durgin’s clinical interests include foregut surgery, complex abdominal wall hernia surgery, and gallbladder and biliary surgery. He takes a patient-centered approach to surgical care, with an emphasis on compassion, clear communication, and shared decisionmaking.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Durgin enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, and playing golf.
