About

Nicole J. Pecquex, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is a board-certified surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Boston Medical Center – Brighton (BMC Brighton), where she serves as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Pecquex is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine.

As CMO, Dr. Pecquex leads BMC Brighton’s medical staff to ensure patient care is of the highest quality, meets the standards set by the hospital’s quality metrics, and contributes to high patient satisfaction. Dr. Pecquex also sits on the hospital’s executive and ICU committees and serves as Director of Bariatric Surgery and Assistant Program Director of the Surgical Residency Program.

Dr. Pecquex earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed her internship and residency in general surgery at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (now BMC Brighton), serving as Chief Resident in General Surgery in her final year. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, during which she also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She then returned to Brighton as an attending general surgeon, where in addition to her work with the surgical residency program, she has worked to build multiple Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP)–accredited bariatric centers and chaired the hospital’s Credentialing Committee.
