Pankaj K. Sikka, MD, PhD, is a board-certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at Boston Medical Center – Brighton (BMC Brighton) and Boston Medical Center.
Dr. Sikka received his medical degree from Grant Government Medical College (Maharashtra University of Health Sciences) in Mumbai, India, and completed his anesthesiology residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. He subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Dr. Sikka also holds a doctorate (PhD) in research pharmacology from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He was one of the first to culture rat kidney cells in vitro, making it easy and inexpensive to perform experiments. He is a member of a taskforce of the American Society of Anesthesiologists Self-Education and Evaluation program and a coeditor of the textbook Essential Clinical Anesthesia.
