Valentin K. Atanassov, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery at Boston Medical Center – South (BMC South) in Brockton, Massachusetts, where he serves as Chief of General Surgery.

Dr. Atanassov earned his medical degree from the Medical University of Sofia Faculty of Medicine in Sofia, Bulgaria, and completed surgery residency training in New York City, at New York University Grossman School of Medicine in Manhattan and, through Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, at Staten Island University Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
