Boston Medical Center Named Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News & World Report

BOSTON — August 4, 2026 | Boston Medical Center has been named a 2026–2027 Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, with Boston Medical Center Health System earned recognition across all three of its hospitals for quality patient care and clinical excellence.

Boston Medical Center earned national rankings in four adult specialties, high performing designations in two adult specialties and high performing ratings in 11 procedures and conditions. BMC Brighton and BMC South earned a combined eight high performing ratings in procedures and conditions.

Best Regional Hospital

Boston Medical Center received both the 2026–2027 Best Regional Hospital and Best Regional Hospital for Community Access designations. The Community Access designation recognizes hospitals that deliver high-quality care while reaching patients who may face barriers to accessing health services.

State and Metro Ranking

Boston Medical Center was recognized as the 5th ranked hospital in Massachusetts and the Boston Metro area, demonstrating our ability and commitment to providing local consumers access to nationally recognized clinical expertise.

Cancer Center Regional Ranking

Boston Medical Center earned the number four regional ranking for Cancer by U.S. News and World Report. This inaugural ranking was developed to help patients identify the best specialty care available closer to home.

Top 50 Rankings

Four specialties at Boston Medical Center ranked among the Top 50 and two additional specialties were designated high performing, underscoring the depth and excellence of specialized care available to patients with complex, high-risk needs at BMC Health System’s academic medical center.

High Performing Procedures and Conditions

BMC also earned high performing designations in 11 procedures and conditions, reflecting high-quality care tailored for patients seeking local or regional treatment for specific conditions.
