Michael Johnstone, MD

About
Dr. Johnstone is a senior general cardiologist at Boston University Medical Center (Brighton Campus) with an expertise in non-invasive and advanced imaging. He has a particular interest in valvular heart disease, diabetes and cardiovascular disease as well as primary and secondary prevention of heart disease. He is a graduate of McGill University Medical School in Montreal, Canada. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Montreal General Hospital, Montreal Heart Institute and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He has been the Director of Clinical Cardiology for over 17 years as well as the Associate Director of the Noninvasive Lab at the Brighton Campus. He is a Professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston University. His research interest include diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and the mechanism of acute cardiovascular disease.
