What motivated you to pursue a career as a primary care physician?
I was inspired to pursue medicine by my late father’s legacy of compassionate patient care and the profound respect he earned from patients, colleagues, and peers alike.
I was drawn to the core philosophy of primary care: to identify and treat the underlying disease before it progresses and becomes more widespread or causes irreversible harm. What makes the practice of medicine especially rewarding to me is the process of arriving at the correct diagnosis by first listening attentively and patiently to the patient’s story, then applying clinical knowledge and experience, and finally connecting the individual pieces of information to see the complete picture—a thoughtful approach that not only leads to accurate diagnoses but also strengthens the trust between my patients and myself.
Are there any moments throughout your career that still stick with you, that you feel particularly proud of?
There are many, but two stand out. One was a patient who I diagnosed with a heart valve problem that required surgery. They were initially hesitant to undergo a relatively invasive and complex surgical procedure, but consented after a thorough discussion of the benefits and risks with them and their family. Following the procedure, their health was fully restored, allowing them to return to work at peak performance and reliably support their family.
On a personal level, one of my most meaningful moments was persuading an immediate family member to undergo an early detection screening test. This timely intervention ultimately saved their life, granting our family many more precious years together.

The BMC Health Primary Care practice at 886 Washington Street in Norwood provides comprehensive baseline care for adult patients.
What is your approach to providing patient care?
As a primary care physician, my work centers around caring for the whole person and building strong relationships and rapport. I know I’ve done my job when I can partner effectively with patients to collaboratively create a care plan that works for them, one that will help them live longer, happier, and healthier lives.
Who are you most inspired by?
Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi…Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the visionary statesman who led the political movement to create Pakistan in 1947, and M. K. Gandhi, the principal spiritual and political leader of the Indian independence movement. Both leaders shared strong personal virtues. They were disciplined, highly intelligent, fiercely determined, and deeply honest in their private lives. Both men trained as lawyers in London, dressed with simple dignity, and commanded immense respect through their powerful willpower. In my life and work, I aim to embody their generosity, honesty, and commitment to helping those in need.
