Internal Medicine Residency Scholarly Activities and Quality Improvement

Boston Medical Center - South Track

Every year, residents are encouraged to publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at national conferences.

Quality Improvement

The program has an integrated curriculum on Quality Improvement that is facilitated by Dr. Bertrand Jaber (Chair of Medicine, BMC- Brighton) which occurs during ambulatory blocks during an administrative half day. Residents are required to complete a Quality Improvement (QI) project during residency. Completed projects are presented annually at the Annual Quality Improvement Presentation.

National Conferences

The program financially supports the residents presenting at conferences with research conducted at Boston Medical Center – Brighton and South. As a result, our residents present at a variety of local, regional, and national meetings each year.

Published Research

Many of our residents pursue research during their training and successfully publish their work. Those with research interest are supported in identifying mentors aligned with their chosen field.  Many faculty members are actively engaged in clinical and basic sciences research, offering residents valuable opportunities for collaboration and scholarly development.
